Autumn Art

Wow, it has been a while since I’ve been in touch. I would like to thank everyone who stopped by last weekend to support Kristen and myself at my Autumn Art & Jewelry Show. It was great to see so many friends and I really enjoyed meeting those who were new to our work.

The last few weeks have been intense yet full of joy. The intense part was coordinating everything that needed to be done. Invitations (email & snail mail), reprints of greeting cards, printing of new cards, menu planning, cleaning and of course new artwork and framing.

Working with Alyson Stanfield, the ArtBiz Coach helped immensely. She kept me to a budget. And this may seem like a simple thing but it really helped (far fewer decisions to make). I purchased a white board with a calendar and backed out the things that needed to be done and in what order. I still ended up with some last minute things, do in part to inclement weather, but thanks to my incredible friends everything got done in time.

Blessed am I – many of my friends volunteered to help with everything from boxing cards, hanging paintings, cooking, to greeting people as they arrived. I could not have done it without them. We had a snow storm two days before the show and two friends ended up staying over for a couple of nights to help.  What fun that was for me and Bella didn’t seem to mind the attention either. Of course the days of the Show it was so warm we had the windows and doors open. I love Colorado.

Kristen Calarco displayed her beautiful jewelry and she will be having her next show on November 6th, 7th & 11th. You can email her at kcalarco@comcast.net for more information and directions.

One thing I enjoy doing for my Autumn Show is decorating my autumn tree. This is probably the most eccentric thing I do. How about you? What have you done lately that is “outside the box”?
