Hand Painted Window Treatments

It was autumn when we moved in, I’m sure that influenced the colors I chose for fabrics and the hand painted window treatments. Outside there were scrub oak sporting leaves in warm glorious hues of gold and splendid, deep  reds with touches of green. The pine trees made a wonderful contrast with their glorious long, green pine needles and warm brown pine cones. The area beyond these trees was left in a natural state with graceful grasses and delicate red-brown twigs.

What dictates how you decorate your home? How do you decide on the mood you want to convey to your guests?

Heavy dark drapes were hung at the windows and seemed to take away from the natural beauty outside. My solution . . . accent the windows with some of the incredible beauty of the Colorado landscape.

  • Thank you, Lezlie, for visiting my blog and for your lovely compliment. I began painting on walls was because I wanted something no one else had. Didn’t want to walk into someone’s home and see the same wall covering. Now I also have clients who want hand painted window treatments because someone in their family has severe allergies and virtually no dust will be trapped in these treatments. Thanks again and I hope you’ll stop by again.
